Seven Hills Students spent the day with their homestay families, visiting relatives, meeting up at DisneySea or taking in the local sites. The teachers had a day to explore, and had all sorts of adventures. Mr. Roquet found the bookstore of his dreams and he and Ms. McBride, Ms Weiss and Shauna Maraccini visited the National Museum at Ueno Park and saw lots of local color.

I had an excursion to Mount Fuji, and despite some early clouds, there was a moment when the sky was clear and I was able to get a great shot. It was a day filled with food and fun and Fuji for me: a boat ride, a Shinkansen ride, a tour around the base of the mountain and some terrific views.

School visits begin tomorrow!

We arrived to Narita Airport on Saturday afternoon in time for dinner, a group meeting at the hotel and SLEEP! Sunday was a Tokyo Tour Day. We saw Senso-ji Temple, Asakusa, Harajuku for lunch and shopping and the Kita City Museum. Then it was off the meet host families for the Welcome Ceremony!! Students are off with their host families and Monday is a holiday, so they will be sightseeing and enjoying a free day. We will all meet up on Tuesday morning for our first school visit.
